As a mom who also has a porcupine for an older daughter, well, throw your dad a bone once in a while. On the upside, at least you have a larger vocabulary than Thing 2, who likes to incoherently babble unless it is to reply “Oh. My. God.” or “I DON’T LIKE THIS!” to absolutely everything.

I definitely think the judges should have limited each author to one nomination, or, as you suggested, simply listed authors instead of specific books.

Wow, you’ve read quite a few! I wonder if I would have had an easier time choosing 10 authors vs. 10 books? Let’s see: Gaiman, Scalzi, Tolkien, Howard, Heinlein, Asimov, Bester, Harrison, Murakami, Niven. Yep, that was easier, although Card and Leiber would also be right in there fighting for position.
