What I am these days in busy. Busy, busy, busy, to the tune of two papers and a presentation, all due next week. So I have to gone to ground, scuttling from work to class to home to library and around again. But just to remind one and all that I’m still alive, here are some links which you may or may not find interesting.

I’ve been terribly busy these past few weeks, and expect I will be for a little bit more. By way of apology, please accept this delicious obituary.

Laura Brannigan toured the world as a back-up singer for Leonard Cohen.
The video for her song Self Control was directed by William Friedkin, of The Exorcist fame. I seem to recall some controversy around this video.
These fun facts brought to you by my inner 14-year old.

The devil, as they say, is in the details. Food for thought: how much martial is in your art?

I am delighted to find that there is a wiki devoted to all things muppet.
I am saddened to learn that the number skits series (”Ten Chocolate Layer Cakes!”) are no longer aired on Sesame Street. My delight in the baker’s pratfalls presaged my joy in the slapstick of the Three Stooges.
I also sympathized greatly with the Mad Painter. His continual failures served to reinforce in me the lesson that not only is life not fair, but others will attempt to thwart you. Especially if you’re trying to paint a 9.

I will note only that the working title for this series is Auntie Bar and Uncle Pint Present.
Well, that and the fact that the illustrator is balking at certain of my suggestions. Such insolence! I may have him horse whipped.

To be quite honest, I do not recall the pterodactyls, or indeed, the camera men. Still, the best laid plans oft gang aglee as they say.

Have I linked to Dogblog before? Maybe at the old joint, but it’s well worth pointing out again. Next to an actual canine on your lap, there are few things as soothing as pictures of dogs.
Naturally I’m partial to the first picture in this installment.

The Bunny and I are currently engaged in what you might refer to as a contest or mutual dare to each grow a proper Dennis Eckersley mustache. The idea is to photograph the results and send a picture to the Eck himself, asking him to autograph our tribute.
UPDATE: T Jr. will be joining us. The photograph will be taken July 22nd. Hilarity will ensue.
