Obscurorant 2.0

Been enjoying Sippican Cottage a lot recently, so I added it to the blogroll. Added The Fat Guy while I was at it.

The move is done. The books are shelved and as of this morning we have the internets again.

And… we have a refrigerator.  A full size refrigerator.  No big deal for you perhaps, but it’s a radical change for me, having had only a dorm-size fridge for close to ten years.  Consequently there have been all sorts of impulse buys at Stop n’ Shop.

I’ve been extremely remiss in noting that the new and improved header would not have happened without technical support. I took the photo of Molly, probably a year or two before she died, but it took Heather’s assistance to turn it into a banner.

Now… about those compilations…

I added a new category of links to the sidebar: The Librarians. These are all sites I came across when I was researching the idea of going back to school and pre-big decision making ritual of considering all the angles, from every possible angle. Anyhoo, you may find some of them of interest.

And how is school going, you ask? (Well maybe you don’t but I’ll tell you anyway.) What it is, is very very time consuming. Which is kind of sad, considering I’m taking just one class, but on the other hand Reference is a notoriously labor intensive class (my advisor estimated the workload at about 20 hours per week plus class time) and I’m still working full time. So, while uechi training is down to once or twice a week and pleasure reading greatly reduced, I am learning to look up shite even faster than before - s’all about the information friends.

Now taking two classes, like I hope to do in the fall, ought to be real interesting…

I’d say things have progressed to a point where I’m ready to move into my new intertube home here at Obscurorant 2.0.

There’s still some work to be done of course.  I need to tinker with the sidebar so that Pages made redundant by the header don’t appear (I think this can be done) and eventually I’d like to put a photo of my own as the banner - I have a couple in mind.  And the Dog knows there are loads of Wordpress widgets to play with and install.
