I have been advised against reading Atonement. Fair enough – thanks to Mr. Dirda I came across a few more books that I might like to read, which I offer up for comment. They are:
The Radetzky March – Joseph Roth
Red Cavalry – Isaac Babel
The Box of Delights – John Masefield
I like to think that I will in fact read all three of the above titles. I like to think that I will read all of the other three hundred-odd title on my list of books to find. I like to think I’ll squeeze at least another thirty years out of this life, and read a hundred books each of those years. This, I think, is perhaps a bit optimistic, but even so – three thousand books left. Yes, this is how I come to terms with my mortality. Death=the time when I can’t read anymore. Makes me think I should choose the books carefully from now on.

I vote the “Box of Delights”…strangely enough I almost bought this book for you when in Portland, Maine this past November. That alone should tell you that it is a book that definitely for you. Instead, I bought you a different book (similar but different) that is part of the wedding present you have not received yet! Keeping you guessing I guess!
BTW, I believe that “Box of Delights” is actually a sequel…..check it out.
There’s more wedding present?
