I’d swear I used to see this guy distributing literature in Inman Square. A lot of restaurants in Paris bring you a business card along with the check. It makes for a nifty souvenir, and a handy way to remember where you ate. (Like you could ever forget.) I’d been intending to add notes about three recipes to the Messing Around The Kitchen page. Unfortunately I waited too long and clean forgot what two of the were. Perils of getting older I guess. From now on I’ll jot these things down. Fair enough – thanks to Mr. Dirda I came across a few more books that I might like to read, which I offer up for comment. They are: The Radetzky March – Joseph Roth Red Cavalry – Isaac Babel The Box of Delights – John Masefield I [...] One of my pictures from Paris is now part of the Schmap Paris guide. I read this New Yorker profile and thought “Maybe I should try one of Ian MacEwan’s books. Perhaps Atonement.” Still later I found myself wondering if I shouldn’t try Ulysses after all.
