Like A Soldier
Posted by The Silver Fox under Books
I still have not seen The Sound of Music and I doubt I will anytime soon. But I did uncover a much more interesting (to me anyway) part of the von Trapp family saga. I’m not referring to their return to Austria, but to an older part of the story. George Ritter von Trapp served as a U-boat commander in the Austro-Hungarian navy during the First World War, and later wrote a book, titled To The Last Salute, about his experiences. I have feeling - just feeling mind you - that I’ll read the book before I see the movie.

I haven’t seen that movie either, but judging by the wiki notes it sounds like a crook of shit anyway.

‘crook of shit’ has a certain ring to it.

1. It’s a musical
2. It’s a musical
3. It’s a musical with what’s her name
4. It’s a musical with what’s her name that was made way back when
Need I say more?
I would suggest copious amounts of wine while watching it too.
Still think at some point you should watch it just so you know what it is people are referring to when they suddenly break out in certain melodies. Really.

Maybe you don’t have to watch. Interesting.
