I did not see your post of this before, but I have also always felt a slight disgust, mostly for those unlike myself, who have done the same in their time and place as those on june6 1944, and all od that generation. Not at all, as you clearly say, to detract, but the "label" is a bit off-putting. On a related note, the sad thing is, as usual I was well aware today of the date and the significance, and mentioned it to a coworker, 15 years my senior, who was not only baffled by the reference but nonplussed by my mention of it..... and his son is in Iraq..... Funny, as usual, how we think the same.
