Asking For It
Posted by The Silver Fox under Faceless Shakedown Devils
This….
Spending on the state’s landmark health insurance initiative would rise by more than $400 million next year, representing one of the largest increases in the $28.2 billion state budget the governor proposed yesterday.
The biggest driver of the cost increase is projected growth in the number of people signing up for state-subsidized insurance, which now far exceeds earlier estimates.”
…is not…
State and federal taxpayers are expected to bear nearly all of the additional cost.”
…the least bit surprising.
But the long-term cost of the insurance initiative continues to concern policy makers and analysts, who are worried that it may become unaffordable.”
I’m usually of the opinion that people get the government they deserve, and that they get it good and hard, but I don’t recall anyone asking for this initiative. Perhaps I missed the enormous outcry for such a program? It’s almost as if our duly elected representatives lords and masters are doing their best to render Massachusetts unlivable for working, middle-class folks. To borrow an expression , they are all faceless shakedown devils.

I like to call it, “increasing my insurance costs three-fold so there’s more cash for the methadone clinic”. My taxes already pay for Medicaid. “Universal healthcare” is the “baby daddy” plan for all of those poor souls who fall through the welfare cracks.
People who already pay for healthcare will pay more than they do now and get lower levels of care (look at the 10 hour waits in Canada’s ER).
The whole thing is a socialist nightmare. I didn’t vote for him.

I keep waiting for Mitt “Mr. Business Experience” Romney’s rivals for the candidacy to mention this boondoggle that he signed into law.

I’ve been wondering how the MA universal health care experiment will work out…
But just for the record, all the Canadians we met in Mexico this week (not that it’s a representative sample - but there were a lot) said they love their health care system.
