Kitchen
Incidentally, the same day I picked up a cast iron skillet, I also bought a brand new ‘mater knife (except mine has a black handle). I justified the purchase as a combination of my love of ‘maters (and mozzarella) and sharp pointy things. Really, can one have enough tomatoes or knives?
Now, once I obtain […]

Portland
Places You Should Definitely Visit in Portland
1. Hadlock Field - home of the Red Sox AA minor league fanchise, the Seadogs. Highlights of a Seadogs game include silly games and promotions between every inning, the Portland Room (Local beers! On Tap! Lots of the!) and of course the chance to see potential future major leaguers […]

Rollin’ Pin Mim
Sometime yesterday morning I became the proud owner of a cast-iron skillet. My questions to you, my peeps, are two:
1. Supposedly this thing is ‘pre-seasoned ‘ - should I season it myself?

Try this double […]

Barn Burning
Supposedly, this is an old joke, but it’s new to me, and appeals to my peculiar funny bone. Enjoy.
A man moves to the Appalachian Mountains to get away from it all. He really likes it, but hasn’t had a visitor the entire three months he’s been there. Finally a hillbilly neighbor comes over and invites […]

When You’re Falling
Earlier today my feed delivered this item to my in-box:
Who needs stairs? They’re so last century. If I had my druthers, going up a floor in a building would be done via escalator, and going down would be done via slide. Giant tube slides, to be exact. You might think it’s impractical, but that would […]

Best Thing
A brief PSA of my own: this weekend is the Annual Spring Book Sale at the Thomas Crane Library. $0.50 a book and a chance to see one of the loveliest spots in Q-town.
