Book Links
Here are some intriguing websites for those among you that are, like me, bookishly inclined.
Shelfari is rather similar to LibraryThing, but has the added advantage of a cleaner interface and being free of charge. I should note that Shelfari seems to be as much a social network site as it a book cataloguing site, while LibraryThing, which will charge you after you catalogue over 200 books is a website clearly aimed at the hardcore bibliophile, what with the ability to search 78 libraries, add lots o’ tags, and connect through your mobile phone. I can be found at both Shelfari and LibraryThing, although I’m nowhere close to cataloguing all my books on either site.
I haven’t signed up for BookMooch, mainly because I’m afraid of expanding my ‘to read’ pile even further. Maybe someone else will sign up and let me know how it is… .

I don’t like how BookMooch charges the giver for shipping. Every time someone wants one of your books, it costs you $5.
That’s a little steep; for $5 I can simply go and buy a couple of used books myself.
I just signed on with Shelfari. Looks like a cool tool.
[...] Virtual Bookshelves If you’re a book-ist, check out Shelfari (or click the image below). It’s a cool virtual bookshelf on which you can display a listing of your own favorites. (HT: Obscurorant 2.0) [...]
